Lady Gaga in More 31st August 2009 Issue

How much of an attention seeker is Lady Gaga? I love her music and I enjoyed seeing her live when she supported the Pussycat Dolls, but I’m not too keen on her, so I was a bit apprehensive seeing her on the cover of more. Thankfully, the interview is just about bearable; however, her comment that she isn’t a promiscuous girl but is enjoying sleeping with lots of good looking people confounded me a bit. I’m not one too judge, but maybe someone should give the girl a dictionary so she can look up the word promiscuous…

According to more, animal print t-shirts are the new celebrity trend and whilst I agree that they are very cool indeed, can I just say that it’s not that much of a new trend since I got a zebra print T-shirt from H&M way back in January- how on trend am I! I would still like to get my hands on a tiger print one though. As well as animal print t-shirts, slogan t-shirts are also featured and these are cool all year round. Be careful that you’re not trying to be too cool with what your t-shirt is saying though. There’s nothing worse than a pretentious slogan t shirt wearer.

Anyhow, I’m loving theTeam Cheryl T shirt from www.boohoo.co.uk; I already have an “I ♥ Cheryl” one but one more won’t hurt. On the subject of Cheryl Cole, more also features a selection of high waisted trousers. I’ve never bought a pair before but I think I may invest in a chic tailored one; they make your legs look amazing!

Studded bags are in this season and more hasn’t forgotten this with its display of leather and suede studded bags, ranging from £7-£25. Who said keeping in fashion had to be expensive? Also, it’s going to start getting cooler now, so more has a selection of brightly coloured jackets which will keep us warm in the autumn but still remind us of summer days. It’s always nice when you can inject a bit of colour into your life when the sky is grey.

The most interesting real life story was about the woman who was so jealous of her boyfriend’s ex girlfriend, she spent £25,000 on reinventing herself to look like her! It’s actually quite uncomfortable to read as she seems oblivious to the fact that she is so jealous to the point where it is psychotic; rather than spend £25k on surgery and clothes, she should spend it on a shrink. Her self esteem must be really low to put up with a guy who always talks about how beautiful his ex is and then have surgery to look like her so he’ll love you more! If any of you are in that situation, don’t change yourself for any man!

Also on the subject of men, the big question asked to 40 men was “can you stay friends with an ex?” and it was pretty much divided into yes and no equally. Those who said yes thought that if you don’t hate each other, why shouldn’t you be friends? Those who said no thought that people break up for a reason so you should move on and it isn’t fair on the new girlfriend/boyfriend? What do you think? Is it possible for a girl and boy to be platonic friends after being in an intimate relationship? If there’s a new boyfriend or girlfriend on the scene, where do you draw the line?

The thing I like about more is that it is consistent and it sticks to a particular format which works but is never boring. It’s the most humorous out of all the weekly magazines I read and this week was no exception and I think that’s what makes it enjoyable to read as it is for real women with real budgets, and this week is no exception.

  • [...] Last week in more magazine, we saw the trend of animal print t-shirts. This week’s Look takes it one step further with the wolf tshirts. With the second part of the Twilight movie, New Moon, due to hit our screens in November, the mystical world of wolves will prove popular for Twilight fans. They are really mysterious and dark, but sometimes they are quite scary looking so try and balance out your look with a cute skirt or light coloured skinny jeans in order not to scare people off or appear too hippy! • [...] seems to have the best/most depressing real life stories. Last week it was spending £25000 to look like your boyfriend’s ex, this week it’s about spending £5000 on a private investigator to catch a cheating boyfriend. [...]
